Love this pistol, have shot a few more expensive guns, but I can shoot this well....I still plan on putting a m and p rear sight on. I do not plan on touching the trigger yet, after 750 rds, it is smoother than when I bought it.

I went ahead and did the full trigger kit last week but haven't been out to the range yet.
Dry firing - it is much softer. I had trouble with the stock pull, so I think this will be better for me.

I'll have to do something with the front sight for sure though.
It got smudged up, definitely need another solution there.

Fun gun for sure, and accurate. I also changed the trigger and added FO sights. The sights are the same as the M&P so you should be okay.

My father owns one and so does his wife. He put the Apex trigger in his but not in hers and I have shot them back-to-back. Hands down the Apex trigger is the winner. I would strongly suggest it as the first upgrade. Not a bad pistol for the price though.

Liked the size, ergonomics, looks of it. Hated shooting it, the tigger was pretty terrible. Would like to try it with the apex upgrade but in stock form I wouldn't take one if it was free...

Had the sd40...the slide was well made, shot surprisingly well, oh but that trigger!!!! I get why they did it, but couldn't justify springing for the apex kit....moved on but glad I tried it....

There were some great Christmas and Boxing Day sales for these, but at the time, all I could find was negative press about the trigger. Now, I'm seeing more and more people recommending these.

ok finally got out to the range today and yah the new trigger and springs are great.
Very soft easy pull without the grittiness. Really helped tighten up the groups.
I had a fair bit of trouble with the stock trigger, my hand would flinch trying to squeeze it.

I'm considering one of these. The trigger gets a bad rap. Some people say if you're used to revolvers it's ok. Some say shoot it a bit and it gets better. As far as working ok the reviews are awesome.

Is the Apex trigger easy to install? Is this an "anybody can do it" type of project?

Holsters seem to still be a little harder to find, but these seem to be getting popular and I suspect it won't be long before there are more choices. The odd person on the internet says that they fit M&P holsters, but I was under the impression that the SD9 was a smaller pistol, so I'm not sure I'd follow that advice without further confirmation. Same with mags, the demand will soon bring more onto the market ..... This won't be a grand power mag issue.

Yes absolutely. No instructions in the kit so you have to go online for the procedure.
I referenced a couple of different ones to make sure I had it right.

Again, I got mags from irunguns when they had a xmas sale.

Thanks for your reply.

I got mine last spring , It was on sale at $300 . I ended up installing a $5 glock trigger spring , A bugger to install !. About a 20% better trigger now (not great but better). gone through 10 boxes of ammo , no issues at all. I would like to get extra mags but $54-$59 at local stores what the hell !

With the low dollar, I wonder how long these budget pistols can stay such a good deal. It sounds like they are well worth the $350 mark or about there, but now the dollar is 68 cents and falling and with the exchange, some people are saying expect 40% increases on imported products.

It's will fit a safariland mp40 holster exact fit I was suprised.......they are 200$ level 3 holsters though.....stock trigger is as good as apex trigger after roughly 1500 rounds don't waste your money on apex kit by more ammo

Thanks Icelink ..... I've actually heard others say that the trigger gets better with use and it's nice to actually get that confirmation from someone on CGN.
