Just got it. Seemed to have a real light trigger. Second trip out when pulling hammer back in single action it doesn't stay. Hammer just flys forward. Dangerous. Popped the side cover off and looks to have had some work done.
That’s called push off. It can be fixed but a lot of people just order a new hammer or trigger depending which on the edge rounded off by a “polisher” YouTube gunsmith.
You should be able to shave off your nail with the sharp edges.
Why does everyone screw with the sears a good trigger job on a S&W is done more with hammer and rebound spring tension than sear contact . Trigger work on a Smith is not all that hard but leave the sears alone you could hurt yourself or worse yet somebody else . Springs are cheap hammers and sears are not.
A lot of ppc double action jobs are butchered a good single double action job if done properly with work well in ppc . We have a few PPC S&W owners at our club that shoot triggers like that I wouldn't pay a nickle for one IMHO
