I just bought myself the range kit brand new. Just wondering who actually registers their firearms with smith and wesson? or any other brands. I know we lack warranty services here (turn around time, etc), is their any benefits to registering as a canadian firearms owner?
I noticed some quality issues on my frame:
1) half of the beaver tail portion has a rough blemish (like sand paper was taken to it)
2) underneath the interchangeable grip, small portion of frame also has blemish not rough but as if someone took of the cast too quickly before it dried out
-They both seems like quality issues from the factory. But I'm not even going to bother taking it back to the store even though its still has the factory oil and never fired. I'm pretty sure the cosmetic defects won't effect the function of the gun and this is going to be my competition gun anyway, I expect it to get abused. HOWEVER, it sucks to buy a brand new pistol and find this imperfections and that SW would ship it out. I'll try posting pics later, but my camera won't focus properly.
You wouldn't think to check the portion of the frame underneath the interchangeable grips...for any potential buyers who will purchase locally make sure to check that portion of the frame so you can get the one in best condition.
