Hi Folks,

This is my review of Brass Stacker's Mosin-Nagant scout scope combo, complete with match rounds* fired.

It works nicely with my sights and seems well made.

I'm favorably impressed.

*S&B/Winchester cases, annealed, Federal large rifle primers, 51.2 grains of H4350, Hornady 174 grain 0.312" bullets. COAL 2.975". This is 0.2 grains over minimum.

I was actually able to order directly from the makers http://brassstacker.com/mosin-nagant/

You just need to call to place your order. They charge 15$ for shipping to Canada.

This.

They've also almost got this done:

It is not made as a detachable magazine and can be loaded with stripper clips. In fact, Brass Stacker is working on a 10-round stripper clip design.

I flat don't know how your laws are concerning bolt actions and 10 round mags.

This is built to be 100% reversible and uses the existing floorplate.

For those who who knew him, this is Doc's/Datamancer's design. He sold Brass Stacker the rights to his patents as he knew he wasn't going to be able to get around to it.

A very nice guy with whom I talked with a lot, he met an untimely death in a car accident. He will be missed.

So anyway, are you all allowed to have 10 round mags for your bolt actions? I won't be selling them; that's TGR/Brass Stacker's thing, but I'll be getting one. I live in an area where critter control is of some importance and it would be nice to load less (the "brrrrrrp" of the stripper clips tend to give away my position.)

I just need to find more Varget powder; all my loads for the 7.62x54r center around Varget (up to 174 grains) or H4350 (174 grains and up).

Regards,

Josh

We have no limits on magazine capacity for magazines DESIGNED to fit and function with manual-action firearms. This floor-plate extension is exactly that and 100% legal in Canada.
