2 quick questions s&w are making their classic revolvers again I can't find anyone in Canada who has them?

Also herd colt may bring back a run on da revolvers again any news on this?

I cannot see how Colts would sell a new DA revolver these days for less than $2K unless it was foreign made. They could NEVER offer something like an old Python with its hand fitting for under even more than $2K. S&W are cost cutting more each year (anodized not high polished SS, MIM parts, rubber grips not wood) why would Colts compete with people who are happy buying Chinese crap guns for $300?

I would think the cost of re-tooling an existing assembly line to start making a limited run of what was already a very expensive and complicated revolver (the reason Colt stopped making them in the first place) would be cost prohibitive. But if there is any truth tot he rumour, then I would expect to see something more on the hand crafted side coming out of the Colt Custom Shop with a price to match. Think of the price of a nice custom 1911 and then add 50%.... Just a guess, of course... ;)

My axiom has always been S&W revolvers and Colt semi-autos.

Colt carries a significant dept load that they can't pay back. Do a search. Even the die hard Colt fans don't think they can survive without major restructuring. They have been on a downhill slide for 40 years or so.

That was the mantra for me as well. But alas Colt revolvers went out first, and like the rest of things that one can no longer have they
are now hot hot hot. Pythons were always the standard even with the ancient lockwork. Smith's were the innovators and progressives in relation
to Colt as far as lockwork that was easier to work on and of course endshake solutions ( A few "Washers"}. For me Colt's DA pull was always superior in
most of their models. SA? Well aside from Pythons, 3-5-7's and some of the old target wheelguns, the Smith had the best out of the factory pull.
Shame about the compromise on todays guns. I really believe Smith is underestimating it's customers. I believe people would pay the extra to get
what they got back in the day and I'm not a high roller. Colt has been through some close calls and in fact if one follows the wires may be heading out.
I hope not cause they truly were dominant as far as semi's go (Alright, up until, how about the 80'S") especially in relation to SW.

The S&W Classic line has been available for a few years now. The guns in that lineup dribble into Canada from time to time and show up in various LGS's. It's nothing especially new.

I've followed various threads about Colt and the supposed re-introduction of some form of DA/SA revolver. So far nothing has come directly from Colt so the rumours are all vapourware.
