Is the (2") barrel on a small frame revolver Model 34 22cal.removeable.As in can I obtain a 5 or 6" barrel and change up?Model is a mid 90's vintage.

Any decent gunsmith should be able to swap out the barrel for you, if you can find a barrel for the swap (maybe a K22 or 17 barrel; if I was doing this, I'd have the longer barrel cut to 106mm).

The "J" frame is the smallest? It is real small.M-35 is that a model 35?
The J frame is the later version of the smallest Smith & Wesson frame size. M-35 is a Model 35. Was an adjustable sighted, 6" target revolver built on the small frame--at one time was fairly popular before the rise of the K frame target revolvers.

44Bore

Is the success rate good on removing the old barrel or is the likelihood of frame damage high.Assuming it is done slowly and carefully. In preperation(several day soak)what is a release or penetrant that the frame can be immersed in that won't harm the blued finish.Thanks.
