Just thought that I would share some pictures of my new Smith & Wesson 625-8:D. I hope to get a chance this week to go out to the range and try it out. I am surprised at how light the double action trigger pull is on this one, I had a 586 a while ago and the double action trigger pull was a lot harder.
Now to find some full moon clips.

Thinking of getting a 45 acp revolver, and get rid of my 1911, I love my 1911 but I hate chasing brass. 45 acp being what it is, expensive. I hate losing it. With the revolver I would not have to worry about it. Now to find one. What a joke the liberals with there stupid barrel law. We should lobby for the exemption of revolvers. At least that. I know it would never fly for the semi which would be nice. I found many 45 acp revolvers with 4 inch barrels. Stupid Law!!

I checked out the web site and the 45 ACP moon clips are sold out, I will have to watch on the web site and see when they get some back in stock. Unless I find some else ware but their price is the best I have spotted so far.

Very nice.

Looking at the pics, it seems the forcing cone and extractor at the rear of the cylinder are fairly substantial and extend a fair ways out (ie the cylinder is shorter so obviously it has to be made fit the frame).

Question: is timing and/or endshake a problem on 625's moreso than any other S&W revolver?

Thinking of getting a 45 acp revolver
Put your thoughts in to action; you will not regret it.
and get rid of my 1911
Don't do that, as you will probably regret it; just shoot the 625 more than the 1911.
Faster than a speedloader I would think
Yes, somewhat.
In the back of my mind I would someday like one of these revolvers
Move it to front and center; you will be rewarded by one of these beauties.
I HATE stainless guns!
Solution; GunKote or Dura Kote it black.

My 625 is buttery smooth, and being a revolver will handle all bullet types with mild to more robust loads than the standard 1911 recoil spring is designed for. Get some .45 Auto Rim cases if you dont want to play with the moon clips all the time.

Well, this one USED to be mine.
Sold it to someone who is going to use it
( I'm too danged busy with all my other guns to use this one)
Great gun.

Well I finally had a chance to do some shooting with the 625-8 and it is a keeper here is some pictures of the target, 10 shots at 25 yards. I still have a bit of work myself to do but I can't complain with these results.
