I need a Extrator for my 686-4 Plus (7 shot) and maybe a new hand. It's getting out of timing once in a while and I have to move the cylinder back into the slot. I can see some wear on Extractor gear Ill post picture later tonight
Anybody knows where I can buy these part in canada or Us (brownells dont have them for 686 plus)

I think we need some pictures. Some of what you're saying sounds like the problem is something other than the parts that you're after.

If the cylinder doesn't rotate far enough for the cylinder stop to snap into the stop groove and it only does this occasionally I would suggest that the issue is that the inside of the gun needs some cleaning and lubeing. It sounds more like things are sticking intermittently instead of a constant issue that behaves the same.

It'll also be interesting to see what is the situation with the ejector or ejector star.

I'd send the gun to Wortners (since you're on the East side) have them check the timing. They're the S&W warranty centre for the east. It's possibly a warranty issue, it's unusual for those issues to arise in an L frame (unless you've shot literally tons of full house .357's with it) and the hand should be properly fitted by a revolver 'smith.

The problem happens sometime , only when shooting real ammo , dry firing dosent do the problem. What the revolver does is that I Cant #### the hammer or press the trigger (double action) unless I move the cylinder anti-clockwise less then a 1mm. Then the bottom "locking pin clic into the cylinder and the action unlock.

I noticed that my cylinder extrator rod was very slightly croocked , so I put a new one I got from Brownells no improvement. I must admit I dont understand why I got no improvement , this is linking to the Extrator itself. but im not Expert I just like to do repairs myself. in this case the extrator rod still turn a bit croocked and it's bran new

The gun Shoot ok the problem is no big deal , it's just the it's not like it should be , and for a gun that suppose to have less then 600 rounds , either its a really rare problem , or somebody lied

It's Dirty I know I just put 80 rounds in it

I'd definitely have Wortners look at it, or an experienced revolver smith, the list of things that could cause that ranges from easy to fix to major parts replacement. You need to get someone who has the tools to diagnose that to check it out. Revolvers are a lot different than auto pistols, they will continue to shoot when they need re-timing, or the cylinder needs shimming, or the crane needs replacement. They're also not that easy to diagnose, without complete knowledge of what the acceptable range of specifications are for that model.

I just found another "problem" with the Forcing Cone , the edge are rounded on the left side and sharp on the right. Weird that it only show wear on the left side. Im also guessing the cylinder gap might be off spec a bit. There is also some sign of wear on the cylinder locking Slot , a bit burred out.

Is there any revolver smith Quebec ?

I dont know if want to dump tons on $$$ in that gun maybe Im better off Selling it and getting another one.
I do know if its a good ideal waisting $50 of shipping and then behing tell you need dump
$400 to fix the revolver Son.

It still shoots and it's quite accurate, But I like my toys to be within Spec and Safe

Is there any revolver specialist in here who could guide me .

What a about the Warranty, a 686-4 is still under warranty ?
