Smith & Wesson "Hot Summer Special" fiasco!

I bought an M&P in .40 in mid July and was a little mift that I missed the rebate and mag promotion. I was told by the shop I bought it from that I could still get two mags under the "Hot Summer Special" deal.

I apply for the deal and recieved a notice back saying that they "the offer is not valid in my state". I know guys that have recieved this deal here in Canada and I know that the shop has seen guys recieve this deal.

So what gives? Anyone in the same boat?
 
Sorry, I did call them and they said that it was not a special for the "state" of Canada.

I am a little peeved is all!

I bought MP40 under deal of $50 off + 2 mags and received a cheque and mags without problems.

See if you can use it for the address in US or under different promo that would work in Canada. Also, you can just write a letter to the headquarters, maybe you will get lucky there.

All the rebates apply to Canada, you just have to get the right person on the phone, or have the evidence that it is a promotion. When I bought my M&P it took me almost 9 months to get my cheque and about 6 months to get the free magazines. The only time a special doesn't apply is if it is on a gun, but then it can be arranged through the couple of S&W importers. Do not take no for an answer. Some one on a switch board or whatever. If you have trouble, PM me and I can send you my contacts email at S&W. There are some paperwork that needs to be sent in to get the rebate other than just a receipt.
 
i got the same letter i was in before the dead line and the state of canada was not included. gave them a call and they basically said to bad, i've seen others around me get the mags from the same offer and i don't know what gives. i have 5 other s ans w products and if this is the treatment i get on this small stuff what happens when the big stuff comes up, may sell all mt s and w stuff and stick to sig and glock.

The fine print clearly states the offer is valid only in the US. I don't know what the big deal is.

The big deal is that the store I bought it from told me as an incentive that two mags were still available from S&W but not the rebate. I bought the pistol partly on the sales pitch. Although it wasn't a deciding factor it helped focus my attention.

Go back to the store and tell them that they owe you two mags as they lied about the free mag availability. It's not S&W's fault that the store didn't know what they were talking about.

Yup, that's what I would do. Mag's are expensive...I would try this as they falsely stated that you would be getting another two mag's. I bought and extra 4 when I bought mine. Lots 'o mags is good! Good luck.
