Well took my new M&P 22 to the range today and fired just over 200 rounds and I had a blast great shooter, the fit and finish is awesome and also very easy to take apart all in all i would recomend this pistol. I decided to try different ammo to see what it liked better and hopefully help others to figure out what ammo they could use also the temp outside was around -10 with the wind chill

Ammo used

1- American Eagle Federal .22lr shot 50 rounds on average 1 stoppage on every 10 shots
2- Remington 22 Cyclone .22lr shot 50 rounds on average 1 stoppage on every 10 shots

these 2 were by far the worst they felt under powered with fail to feed, ejection issues and bad rounds

3- Winchester M22 .22lr shot 50 rounds loved these rounds no issues felt more powerful than the first 2 types
4- Blazer .22lr shot 50 rounds loved these rounds also no issues felt more powerful than the first 2 types
5- CCI MiniMAg .22lr HP shot 10 rounds no problems didnt fire many of these little more pricey

Normally I use high velocity ammo to "break in" a new rimfire semi auto handgun or rifle. After 500 rounds of that, you can try feeding it standard velocity ammunition.

Mine cycled everything I threw at it. Federal Bulk packs, Winchester Wildcats, Remington Golden Bullets, and Winchester M22. I can't ever recall it FTF but it did FTE Federal Bulk once in a while if I let it get too dirty.

I've been having a few issues with ammo and my M&P 22. It'll eat blazers all day long without a hiccup. Pretty much everything else I've tried I get some fail to load and eject.

What I've put through the gun so far

CCI Mini Mags, no problems (spendy)
CCI Blazers, no problems at all
Winchester M-22, a few fail to eject and load, 1 or 2 in 4 mags (40 rds)
Federal American Eagle, a few fail to eject and load, 1 per magazine usually and 4 duds in 350 rds fired.

I just paid a premium price for 500 Winchester Dynapoint GT's at Canadian Tire and will try them out as soon as weather permits. I also have a few CCI Stingers to try see how they work.

I've been loading the magazines now with 8 of the American Eagle and then two Blazers on top. The Blazers have some sort of lubricant on them. Dunno what it is but it seems to keep the rest moving through the cycle.

it loves blazers for sure let me know how the winchester dynapoints work, ya its for sure more ammo related

Great topic folks thanks for posting. Just purchased a M&P 22 over the weekend and can't wait to get it out to the range. I know my son is even more excited to shoot it. Thanks again

I've run about 200 of the dynapoints through the pistol. Still getting a few stovepipes and failures to load. Not much different than the Winchester X22 or the Federal American Eagles. When I really want to shoot I load two Blazers on top of each mag. Seems to help. Dunno if it's a lubrication issue or the mag spring is too strong. Anyhow that works for me. Almost out of blazers though.

Was out a few days ago, weather's a lot nicer now.

Have fired 3 packs of CCI Mini Mags, an entire box of Winchester 333, and over 200 rounds of Remington Bucket O' Bullets so far (supposedly crap ammo) and my M&P 22 runs fine. No issues.
I will add that I also religiously clean and oil it after every range trip.
