Smith Wesson M.P Sport II

They are ok, entry level AR15s but for those who shoot them, they more often than not, will change out components. For those who just want an AR15 in the hopes that instead of an out right ban, the rifle will be grandfathers, there are better options then a $700 place holder in your safe. Consider a $130 lower which for the same price as an M&P15 can build you a much better rifle. I had to throw an accu wedge in mine which is something that I did not have to do with any of the other rifles that I have built.

I got two . The first was one of the newer batches for $679 from a site sponsor 2 years ago . The other is from 2010 , I have the receipt for it @$1600 ish , the interesting thing is that it doesn’t have a muzzle break or even threads for that matter , it does however have the forward assist . I wonder if the non muzzle break was common at that time ?

It’s a shame but it looks like the great deals on these rifles are gone. I ended up buying 3 of them when they were in the $600-650 price zone. Hard to beat that for value!

I replaced barrels on 2 of them at the 10k mark as they were starting to keyhole. The third one doesn’t get shot as much so it’s still on it’s original barrel.

I think they will be retailing in the $1k range for the next while.

Sounds like you have one of the early 1 in 8 twist barrels, that or it was some kind of Target Model. Also is it a Sport? The early Sport's had no forward assist and no dust cover.

I may be selling an Original Sport in the near future depending on how my new ATI Hybrid Upper Receiver fits on my current lower.
