Does anyone here own a M&P? I have recently purchased a M&P.40 and i'm wondering if anyone here owns one or have used one yet? And what is your opinion on this firearm? From 1 to 10 what do rate this gun? Also i want to see some videos of this firearm in action. Also is this firearm a good choice for IPSC and is anyone here using this firearm for IPSC? Sorry for all the questions but i have yet to recieve my M&P, so i need to end my curiosity of this firearm!

Juli Goloski is now shooting for Smith & Wesson, using this pistol I believe. A few high end shooters from the USA are using this pistol in IDPA.

She looks pretty fit here:

I fired one two weeks ago and came away quite impressed. Nice trigger, good pointer and seems accurate. I believe my buddy got it on trade from wolverine. (good people to deal with!)

Its on okay pistol i just dont like the trigger reset, slide release, and mag disconnector.

I have trouble detecting the reset as well; it is certainly not as obvious as on my glocks. The slide release must be swapped out, IMHO, as it is quite difficult to trip without slingshotting the slide. The mag disconnect safety is another one of those ideas that is impractical for most sport shooters.

I personally like the feel and point of the gun. The sights are great for a cheaper high-production gun, and the slide serrations are a nice often-overlooked feature (I get a better grip on these vs. some straight vertical serrations).

I'd buy one if they got rid of the mag disconnector. I enjoyed the pistol overall, except for that.
I'm going to keep an eye on TSE's range gun, for the long term punishment test.;)

Love This Pistol!

I just purchased one and I love it! For me it was between the glock 17 and the s&W m&p but with a lot of visits to the gun store to try them out I ended up with the M&P for a few of reasons. I enjoyed the feel much better with the interchangable palmswell grips (my favorite is the large), I liked the look and style of the gun (compared to the g17), the slide serations were nice, the case supplied was the best Ive seen, and the number one reason was for the fact that it is completely ambidextrious as I am a left hand shooter. I got the 9mm as I have no interest in IPSC.

I fired a few rounds of 9mm from an M&P. Somehow I managed to eject the magazine during recoil so that didn't leave me with a favorable impression, but it was probably just poor hand placement on my part.

P.S. If Julie's chunky, then I guess I likes 'em chunky too! ;)

If I recall correct, this problem happen at the early production and have been mentioned at www.mp-pistol.com forum as well, the problem seems to be fixed by S&W. I am quite sure it was not your problem.

Get back on topic people!

Show some skin off a female and you guys just lose the attention.

And I can't find the M&P in any of those pictures? Oh wait that's not important......

that statement makes no sense... ;) I'd be willing to bet that most people shooting the M&P in IPSC will be shooting 9mm ;)
