Smith & Wesson Model 1950

1950 s&W

model 1950,n-frame,5.5" barrel. .45 a.c.p. fixed sights. looks like a model 10 skinny barrel that has been working out has not been produced for years

I have a Government Model 1917 in .45acp but I'd love to find one of those 1950's. You're a lucky guy OP! Too bad about the aftermarket grips but Ebay is a great resource for stuff like that.

If you're interested, Trade Ex has several 5 1/2 inch barrels with half moon front sights and ejector rod support lugs for $99.

Would probably be a downgrade, though.

From what I have learned since my initial post, there was also a military version of this, with the 5.5 inch barrel, and fixed sights. These Tradeex barrels are for that model, and would not be compatible with the rear sights on the target model.
I was shooting it with 45ACP and moon clips, and as the picture shows, it's nicely accurate. I have a bunch of 45Auto Rim brass on the way so I can do without the moon clips.
