very nice graydog. you really can't beat the classic 27s imo. love to have that 8 3/8

Very nice 27's!

I like the looks of the 5" Model 27's the best.

graydog is actually living the life I began thinking about after my 27-9 arrived yesterday. I just have to wait for some old timers to kick the bucket so some old M27 safe queens get recycled back into the general population. And such is the cycle of life.

(I double triple dare you to holster one.)

Looking at the prices I see for mint model 27's on US websites I think I got a great deal at 600 dollars too. Ive put a few hundred rounds of .38 special and a box of .357 magnums through it and its a pleasure to shoot. Wouldn't it be nice if we could take them hunting?

And when you want to shoot full house .357Mag's it makes it child's play. You know you're still shooting something serious but the gun simply doesn't jump around like the lighter L and K frame guns. The 27 or 28 are simply guns that are best suited to full house magnum all day every day. But they do great at shooting .38Spl as well just for a bonus.

I have a 686 which is a L frame if I am not mistaken. I thought that the 686 was designed to handle .357 mags all day too ??

This is sort of like asking a man how much money he makes in a year. It's not the done thing in polite society.

I respectfully disagree. I'm not asking how much he paid for the particular revolver, but model's value in general.
If that would be in such a bad taste S&W catalogue wouldn't publish such data. Problem is that I don't have idea about Canadian value. Thanks for your feedback though.

Any idea what's the fair value on excellent condition 27-2 with 8 3/8" barrel?

not totally sure. i haven't seen them on ee. they are not the most sought after 27s (most like the 5s) but the 8 3/8s are rare. i would think $1200 (maybe more to test waters) would be a good place to start, but really i don't know.

No worries. I do realize it's fairly rare version. There is someone who owns one of these and I would like to make him a fair offer.
That's it. Thanks!

too bad. i thought it was your own that you were going to offer to sell me ;-)

Ha, sorry I was kidding. I don't think there are any etiquette rules on asking a man how much his revolver is worth.
