Smith+Wesson Model 27

No worries. I do realize it's fairly rare version. There is someone who owns one of these and I would like to make him a fair offer.
That's it. Thanks!

Smith & Wesson model 27's in the 8 3/8 inch version are not very common at all. The books say that the 5 inch version are the most uncommon but that has not been my experience at all.

I have saw quite a few 5 inch versions with a bunch being sold on the EE in the last year or so.

As to the value it would depend on condition of course and accs. like a presentation case etc. Also how bad do you want it would factor in as well.

I get to see quite a few S&W revolvers and I see almost none of the 27's in the 8 3/8 inch version so I guess they would be worth whatever a buyer would be willing to pay.

Looks like I was able to secure a deal on that 27-2 with 8 3/8" barrel. Funny thing is that on the very same day I found model 19-3 that is still new and unboxed, so keep your eyes open on EE ;)
One of these may be showing up there soon.

Nestor, that's great that you found your 27-2 in a length you can appreciate and of a vintage that is sought after. Sometimes we are at the mercy of what people are selling at the time that they are selling it - meaning we have no crystal ball, to tell us if something better might come along, so we better snatch up what we see while we can. You know how the saying goes, "A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush". This is very true with gun sales. Often the chance slips away so quickly if we don't pounce on the opportunity. I would rather have an older vintage than my 27-9, however I am no less satisfied when I pull it out and admire the craftsmanship. It is a good gun too, until something better comes along for the collection...

Thanks. I have this funny experience when it comes to buying guns that I was looking for over the long period of time. They always come in pairs. I'm like....wow finally I got it...and when I'm broke, usually 24 hrs later or even less there is another one I was looking for...and I'm even deeper in the red :) That was the case with 27 and 19. I had few 19s in the past, but never a one that would be NIB. Well, the time has come.
