Smith & Wesson Model 29-2

The point is that shooting full power loads in the older model 29s will beat then up in short order(they will go out of time in a few hundred rounds). That is the reason that the newer generations of 29s have redesigned lockup and strengthening,so that they handle heavier loads better. Also,I dont think that there are many people out there who can actually manage to shoot 2-300 rounds of full loads in an afternoon and still enjoy doing it.

I dont agree with that. I just shot 200 factory rounds throught my model 29-2. American eagle 240g JHP, 1200fps at the muzzel. It depends on the condition of the gun, which goes for any gun. Mine was mint. Hickok45 has 70000 or so through his model 29 and still shoots it. He shoots 44 special cause its more pleasant as he says, just like shooting .38 special instead of .357 mag.

Now if your talking hot reloads i may agree with you. But im not worried about factory stuff.
