Smith & Wesson model 645

I have the same pistol, but third gen SW4506-1, one of the most accurate and reliable pistol in my safe....eat anything and everything withour a hick-up...never had a FTL, FTE or FTF in more then 9K rounds.
Fully recommended if it's in a excellent condition in and out!

I have the 745. I believe it is basically the same gun but the 645 is double action/single action where the 745 is single action only. The 745 is one hell of an accurate gun. Unfortunately I don't shoot it very well. It just doesn't feel right in my hand. I shoot my Colt Gold Cup much better even though the 745 is more accurate. So if you are interested in getting a 645, try it first.

And as Wolfstrack's experience, my 745 has never had problems with ammo that my Colt rejects.

i have one of the original 645's used it for ISPC only problem i've ever had is the mag bottom plate cracking (it's made of plastic) when it hits the floor repeatedly. smith won't mail them to canada anymore. never had a problem runs with anything and very accurate.

Ditto, I found the S&W grip angle and feel to be awkward. The double action trigger was horrible. The mag release was a tad tiny and hard to hit.

Pretty, but didn't pass the test drive with me.

it was one of the pistols used in the original Miami Vice by Don Johnson's 'Sonny Crockett'.

he used :

Browning BDA: Sig 220 .45
Bren 10....10 mm
S&W 645.....45ACP
S&W 4506.....45ACP

Also had back ups....detonics .45 I believe as well as a compact S&W .45 later on.

I have the 645 which I purchased from the EE for under $650. The gun was in "like new" condition. It is very accurate, fires all of my reloads and factory ammo and has a very smooth trigger (even in double action).

Love this pistol! Bought it specifically because Sonny Crockett used one in Miami Vice. :D

I had 4506, bought it new from a cop for $500. It was the most accurate and reliable handgun I have ever had. When I was selling all my handguns, I sold it as well and it is the only gun I regret selling. The only thing about it, it was getting dirty pretty fast. Or maybe because it was stainless I noticed it getting dirty faster. Anyway, if I was getting into handguns again, this would be my number 2 choice. Number one would be stainless Sig 220 in .45.
