what do you think of the MP-15,is it possible to add a muzzle brake on it because there is no thread on the barrel.

You can get it threaded for a less than $50, and add a flash supressor as desired. It's only non-threaded to allow export from the US.

Actually, here's a potentially dumb question.

I've got a line on one of those myself right now and once I buy it, I'm seriously considering doing the flash suppressor thing myself. Now, if I get it threaded and screw on a flash suppressor, can I get it on a Form 6 NIA with the non-export compliant modifications?

Yes - as long as the barrel is 16"+, you'll be okay.

It's an issue of different agencies. The export restrictions are mandated by the State Department, but the Form 6 is all ATF.
