Smith & Wessson, .22/32 Kit Gun

I have owned one of the original model kit guns, on an I frame, pic attached.
As a collector, I am wondering if this model is preferred over the J frame introduced
about 1960. And what would be the difference in value?

I suspect the difference in value between that particular gun and a representative J frame would have more to do with the excellent condition yours is in.
