I had a chance to handle one of S&W's M&P guns in .40 and it felt nicely balanced and well made.

I am considering getting one of these in either S&W .40 or 9mm.

The trigger pull seems to be a near match to a Glock 17 as far as feel. I think the specs are very close to each other. The DA striker fired design has a nice trigger feel, but is definitely different from what I'm used to in respect to shooting SA in a 1911.

The only thing I don't know is how well these guns actually perform or if they are reliable. They seem reasonably priced at a little over $800.00

Does anyone own one of these and what are your thoughts.

I've handled one a lot at wholesale, and finally got a chance to shoot one this weekend (9mm). I love it. Points better for me than a glock. The trigger is pretty good. It's definately on my short list.

BTW, Epps has them for $679. :D

I handled one yesterday, really like it as well...might have to get one later on.

Anyone outside of ON sells them for under $650? :runaway:

Thanks for the info about the price. Makes the $829 that Wholesale wants seem a little steep. Although shipping may eat up some of that.

Seemed like a nice pistol any very much like a Glock. In the end I went G17 but you probably couldn't go wrong either way.

I just bought a M&P9 From a CGN sponsering business (Target Sports Center in Ont.) For $650.00.:D With GST ($39.00) and shipping to B.C. ($35.00) the total was $724.00.

The price locally here was $849.00 + 2 taxes ( Approx. $960.00 total)for the exact same pistol.

A nice little savings of $236.00 from shopping around.;)

SKBY.

I've got one in 40...great gun, recoil is much more manageable than a Glock22 and the grip angle and ability to adjust it makes personal fitting a snap.
I love my Glock 9MM and 45's (I've got a G19, G17, G34 and a G21) but the
Smith is a better 40.
Easy to recommend, in either 9MM or 40, and as noted above, if you shop around, there are relative bargains to be had.

I bought one in 9MM. I prefer it over the Glock 17 I used to have, fits my hand better and I much prefer the trigger. Accuracy seems decent so I think this one is a keeper. Now I've just got to find a few extra mags.

Thanks for the input.

Since Frontier is probably nearest to me and Marlin replied to my inquiry very promptly they've got my nod. Their price is $649 plus $20 to ship plus GST. Total will be $709.14. That will save me almost $228 in comparison to a local store.

That's enough to get some extra mags and goodies. :D

S&w 629

I'm new, so not sure of the Protocol - I'm looking for a Smith 629 .44 mag prefer 5" Mountain Gun. Should I post such a request here?
