Hi all,
Curious about what a full wood Australian SMLE 22 hornet conversion I have might be up for? I have been searching for going rates on various sites but I have yet to find any up for sale or any historical sales numbers. Also any interesting facts/history on them would also be welcome, only know what has been said about it on gunboard/forums and that is fairly in complete. Ive seen lots of discussion/pictures of factory sporter variants but have only seen a couple pics of one in full wood before, did someone drop the conversion back into full wood??
Thanks for a value or any info/help given.
(very tired right now, can give more info in the morning if needed. cant post pictures right now, away from home)

i dont have much info on the value or the rifle itself. however, if its a genuine full wood rifle i would think you could get 800-1000 for it. thats roughly the price of good condition SMLE rifles chambered in .303. you might end up being able to go higher on your price due to rarity of the firearm, but that can also hurt the value. i was hoping someone with a lot more knowledge would've commented on this one by now.

If it is a Lithgow made 22 Hornet, you have something of value, especially if it is the made-for-Slazender H-barrel magazine rifle. If it is a #2 Mk. I that someone re-chambered to .22 Hornet and replaced the firing pin & bolt head with a normal centre-fire one, while retaining the rim-fire extractor, you still have something of value, albeit less than the former.

A full wood military rifle with a caliber change is worth no where near what an original condition rifle is worth. It has been changed and it's collector value is gone. Without pictures and more detail maybe 500 to 600.

good point, although i was working under the assumption it was a genuine Lithgow 22 hornet. but without serial numbers or pics, we dont know.
