Can any of you gents tell me the differnce between the SMLE bolts and the No 4 Mk 1 bolts?

I have seen some SMLEs with the old style bolt and some with the ones that look like the WW2 ones. Is there a difference with between the later SMLE bolts and the No 4 Mk Is of WW2 fame?

Thanks!

SMLE bolts are different from No.4 bolts. Round and flat cocking pieces were used on both, but are different.

The SMLE and No4 bolts are not interchangeable.
The No4 bolt body has a groove cut lengthwise in the right locking lug which the SMLE bolt does not have.

As well, Number 4 bolts are all BA threads, SMLE bolts are ENFIELD threads.

Only parts that might interchange would be the Spring, Extractor and Extractor Spring.
