I have a dewat SMLE that I may have a deal to sell but I am concerned that the value of the fore stock wood may be more than value the rifle has as a wall hanger. I can't find any original wood for sale and what's on eBay is replica stuff the "needs fitting". So, does anyone know what the pieces would be worth if I sold them without the metal bits?

Been pricing them out for a No4 MK I. Uppers are about $25 each the bottom is about $100. Can be more depending on markings . Metal rings are between $10 and $20. Saw a nice complete stock set with rings and front sight guard to convert a BUBBA recently sell for $300 on EE. There is a set of uppers on EE for $60 plus shipping but not sold as of yet.

I was wondering the same thing. I have a set on EE but I have no idea if I am close to the actual value. Original parts are getting scarcer and its hard to find something comparable. Please correct me if I am out to lunch.

Parts will always be worth more than a complete rifle, even a dewat one.
Same thing for part lots... selling individually will always bring in more... but it takes time and effort...
$450 for a complete wood set and metal is a reasonable market price... wetter it is a reasonable investment that's another story.
It all depends on the buyer perspective.

SMLE funiture is becoming harder to come by and although they have been creeping up in value, they are still reasonable. Look on the Numrich website because their prices are reasonable and although they are in USDs, they do ship to Canada. As for a top fore stock, it should range from $23 USD which is what Numrich sells it for to $65 USD, which is what Victorian Military Accoutremants in NZ sells a reproduction for. A couple of months ago, I bought a lower stock from Numrich for $65USD and it was in good to very good condition.

Thanks for the info. I don't feel bad selling the whole rifle then.
