smle George Armstrong is now deceased.

His contributions online here was part of what sparked my interest in collecting in the first place. May he rest in peace, and thanks for all the help provided over the years.
 
Probably one of the most knowledgeable Lee Enfield guys in Canada for sure. Never met him but seemed like a real gentleman, something that is in short supply these days.
 
Sorry to hear. I knew he had been ill these past 2-3 years and had been quiet on here. Thanks for passing this on.
 
Sorry for your loss. His posts helped me out on a rifle years ago. This forum was never as good once he stepped away from it.
 
I attended George's service today at Virden. It was held at the graveside, and was a good event. It was brought to our attention, in a good natured manner, that it would be one of the few times George was on time. The last piece of music played was Il Silenzio, done by Andre Rieu & Melissa Venema. A beautiful rendition, perfect for saying farewell to an old gunner.
