Hey guy I’m in search of a SMLE NO. 2A MKIII Ishapore .308 Cal 10 Round Magazine or sterling No4 7.62 10 round Magazine. I realize they are hard to come by, has anyone seen one for sale in the very recent past?

I’m fairly new to milsurp so if anyone knows of another mag that will fit a converted No4mk1 7.62 that would also be helpful. Maybe even an thread that converts an old .303 to mag to 7.62?

Thanks for any help!

Numrich offers reproduction .308 calibre magazines for the No.2A. Bit pricey though, at $56.25USD - and then there's the flat rate shipping and you'll end up getting nicked by the CBSA.

Sadly, Numrich is closed for the time being due to pandemic restrictions.

Yeah I saw that, I’m right by the boarder so worst case scenario I will pick it up in the US and bring it back as I have done in the past. If there is someone there to let them know the firearms laws in Canada they let it in pretty quick ;)

Yeah, not a great idea what with ITAR and all... Unless you like the idea of spending time in a US Federal Prison - or a permanent ban from entry, etc.

Sure, the Canadians could care less - assuming the parts, etc., are legal. The Yanks, on the other hand take a dim view to smuggling.

I’m well aware. I use to do it about once every two weeks. And CBSA will give you a hard time on things that they have no idea about. They gave me a real hard time on my XLR Carbon rem 700 chassis and 10 round mag, I had to go through about 3 of them before I got someone that knew anything about firearms.

As long as you don't go over 10 rounds and you claim it at the border you're good to go. I've ordered a few shipped to me.

How well do the Numrich Ishapore 2A1 magazines work in for example a DCRA 7.62 No 4?

Insert right in, feed 10 rounds reliably? Eject reliably?

Do the mags have an ejector tab? (like the Brit Enfield conversion mags did)
