Exactly. These are priceless nowadays New stuff is just sitting on the top of the old finish…doing nothing. I am not sure how to justify spending any money on these newly formulated products. I found one that takes care of the regular paint still, but barely really.

Incredible work. Just amazing.
A relative handed me a rusted up, VERY worse for wear SMLE jungle carbine and asked me to look into getting it to shoot. I took the time to get parts and clean it up. It shoots now, fun little rifle.
But you have inspired me to go the extra mile and put some more time into it.

For cleaning out the bore, Try Wipe Out Foaming Bore cleaner, it does a excellent job of removing copper deposits that have been there for countless years ,

Be carefull with that, it will mar an oil finish, and tends to bubble out when you spray it
