I own a 1918 SMLE that is missing the stock disk. Now i don't feel like spending $40 on a stock disk so i was thinking of sticking a King George shilling in the hole. I was wanting to get the overall opinion on this. Should i just find a blank disk and do it right? I kinda like the silver coin in there. Silver is also lucky. So it might make my shooting better. Here is some pics. I will be securing it in with either a two part epoxy or contact cement. Any advice on either? The shilling is dated 1926 but all from that date range have the same bust.
