I have a Smle in 22rf and it shoots excellent. I need to lighten the trigger pull. Being from the USA I know very little about the trigger on the SMLE. Need help on how to lighten it or is there a drop in trigger? It seems to work on a lever as when you pull the trigger the bolt cocking knob moves back.

Thanks

Hi Carney,

I am familiar on adjusting the trigger pull on a Lee Enfield in .303, but I don't know if it's all the same on a .22...

But, as a general tip, if you can strip the rifle apart, then assemble it only with the metal parts (leave the forend off), you can see how the parts work together and at least see if there's something technically wrong. Then, if all is fine and an adjustment is needed, someone with the actual details on that procedure for the .22 will have to come up to the microphone :)

Which rifle? An SMLE is a No. 1 only. The trigger on a No. 4 and a No. 7 are the same. Not easy to do a trigger job on.

Huber Concepts makes an adjustable trigger for the SMLE:
