5.0 grains of Unique in a '89, '92 or '95...you would know you've shot something, that's for sure.
I believe it. I had a an 1877 DA at one time, handy little Colt, but big difference between even those and the beefy SAA. It's pretty evident why the 41colt never did have higher loadings than what's typically discussed ... some of the guns that were chambered for it surely couldn't handle anything hotter. Cuts the balls off and hangs a ceiling over the possibilities to where the SAA could have taken the caliber is all... I can only imagine how history may have been re-wrote if heads had wrapped around the 41colt earlier on in a single action instead of diddling with the doubles.
Is what it is though, now.. by gone & overstepped by 44's & such too long ago to worry about anymore. But possibilities were great for it at one time.
