I just came back from shooting some of my 9mm reloads and wow were they smokey..
125gr DRG lead bullet, 3.3gr titegroup, dominion primers.
I shot 100 of them and had no issues other than the smoke. I can actually group these
way better than factory loads.
Could it be the lube causing the smoke?

I just got back from shooting copper and lead and even outdoors the lead puts up quite a cloud that you can see. Par the course, won't need to smoke a cigar tonight, I've had my fill of smoke.

That and the PITA to clean the firearm is why I only shoot plated bullets. There is a guy at our range that uses a comp'ed .45ACP with lead bullets and uses Win 231. Looks like an old style locomotive when he rapid fires.. puff, puff, puff!

Titegroup and lead is going to be the smokiest thing you can make unless you use black powder.

Not even close. I'm sure that W231 has that trophy in the bag.

You guys have not even SEEN SMOKE until you have someone in the group shooting cast bullets which are lubed with a little too much Alox. WOW! ! ! !

I think Unique probably smokes on par with W231. And yes, a little Alox is good but it makes a real mess of a bore when tthere's too much of it mand stinks to high heaven, too.

I used some Cactus Plains .40 bullets with Blue Dot in 10mm. It smoked so bad the RO asked what the hell I was shooting. A full mag nearly blocked out the firing line indoors. I was glad to be rid of them.
