No worries tracifan68. Been consulting way too long and I'm a bit of a spreadsheet nut. Interesting your K22S had much better luck with some of the lower velocity ammo. I think Canuck223 mentioned your slide is actually lighter than mine which would certainly explain it. Any way you could throw your slide on a scale? Would be interesting to see the difference in weight.

I've collected just over 20 .22 handguns now. Testing them for the the right ammo is pretty normal as it's just not a powerful round. Each handgun may have a different miminum blowback force required to make the bolt/slide cycle properly. The challenge with the cheaper bulk ammo is that it's usually lower speed (lower blowback force) as well as being pretty inconsistent. Maybe 7 or 8 of my handguns work well with the cheap bulk stuff, but those are well broken in and I've usually tinkered with them (polishing bolts, rails, stoning hammers and various parts). Will probably end up tinkering with this K22 X-Trim as well, but for me, that's part of the fun 
Got a chance to try out my K22 X-trim today as well.
Conditions
- K22-Xtrim cleaned and lubed, small diameter recoil spring installed
- tested in an out door range @ ~2 degrees Celsius
- ran through 5 * 10 round mags of each ammo
Results
So definitely looks like it's going to need high velocity ammo for now, at least until it breaks in. The lower velocity bulk stuff like Winchester Wildcat and American Eagle 40gr RN didn't have enough recoil to push the slide back far enough to eject the fired casing. Not really surprising, I've only had this cheap bulk stuff work well in a couple of my .22's.
Had a surprising high number of FTF's, but easy to squeeze off another strike in double action. All FTF's went off ok after the 2nd strike. Looking at the fired casings - the primer strike is not as deep as my other .22's. Also, as tracifan68 mentioned, I did notice that occasionally the slide did not fully return to battery (usually the 1st round of a mag). This may have increased the number of FTF's. Not going to bother putting in the heavier recoil spring though as most likely it won't cycle even with high velocity ammo. Will just keep my eye on this - can just push the slide into battery when I notice it.
Overall pretty happy with my K22 X-Trim. Got it for some cheap practice for my X-Calibur as it fits my existing holster and mag holders. Will break it in with a case of Minimags and retest again.
wow....if I had results like that I'd be pretty disappointed. reminds me of a Ruger 10/22 that's been at the repair center for 3 months now
I'll withhold judgement until I get the gun and have a chance to see for myself but those results certainly worry me. I shoot the Federal Champion 525 and Winchester 555 mostly. I think if it's that fussy it will be on the EE before too long. I am not a tinkerer and want my guns to work out of the box.

American Eagle Xtrim 17/20(3 fail to extract) Basic .22 20/20(good accuracy)
Win 333 Xtrim 9/10(1 fail to extract) Basic.22 10/10
AR Tactical (CCI) Xtrim 40/40 Basic 38/40 (2 jams on feed)
Over all the basic .22 model seemed a bit more reliable. I didn't try the smaller diameter spring in the Xtrim and just ran the larger one that came in the gun. Next trip I'll take some more time to try both springs but I was pretty happy with the results though it seemed like the extractor was not hooking into the rims as well as the basic model and left a few spent shells in the chamber.
Pretty sure both these guns will smooth out even more with use so I expect reliability to go up but the xtrim may need some extractor work and the mags as well might need a bit of tuning. One of the 4 mags it was easier to load the 10th round but the other 3 were stiff and bottoming out on the follower stop. I haven't taken the mags apart yet but I plan on adjusting the 3 stiff mags a bit so that it's easy to load the 10th round. As noted by another shooter sometimes the bullets seem to be sitting on the top of the mag at too shallow of an angle and when you have to jam in the last round it seems to sit funny. It also looks like the top of the mag (where it is sculpted out to allow the top bullet to move forward) could use some minor tweaking to allow for a smoother transition from mag to chamber but I will wait a bit before changing anything there.... some bullets got deflected hard and ended up badly jammed and bent stuck part way into the chamber and a couple of times the bullet flew right out past the chamber and ejected! This happened after clearing a hangup and racking the slide.
Over all the basic model ran a bit better then the X trim and the basic really liked the American Eagles.....100percent reliable and very accurate! The basic model also was 100percent with the Winchester 333's and the CCI AR Tactical's

My advice based on my guns is stock up on some CCI mini mag or AR tactical for the first thousand rounds or so.....

Great results Can-down. It's good that you have both the K22 X-Trim and the K22s basic model so you could compare them directly. I'm not surprised that the K22s works well with some of the bulk ammo. I measured my K22 X-Trim slide @ 270gr and tracifan68 measured his K22s slide @ 210gr. That extra weight is definitely going to make a difference in the force required to cycle the slide properly.
Did you say your K22 X-Trim came with the big dia spring installed and the small dia spring in the case? Mine came with the small dia spring installed, so I didn't bother trying the large dia spring yet as I would have thought that was for even higher powered ammo.

Vanman, have you tried the larger spring on your gun at home? On mine the larger diameter spring doesn't rest on the base of the guide rod like the smaller spring but instead seats deeper into the gun so it may actually be a softer setup.
Between mag tweaks and spring adjustment their is definitely hope!

Just checked out the new wholesaler's website...MSRP on the K22S is $595!I guess I'll forgive the odd FTF or FTE considering that I paid $299 for one.
MSRP is not indicative of actual cost. I'm pretty sure Dlask sold these at cost to them, which is probably what they paid for the pistols from Grand Power.
Fair enough...it will be interesting to see what they (and all the GP models) are going for once they are actually widely available in retail stores.
