Smoothest Action

Carl Gustaf. Have 3 and all you have to do is tilt the gun and the bolt will glide open or closed... Very Smooth. My Sako can't compare to them..

They ride on a rail, smoothest ever.

Carl Gustaf Husqvarna made the smoothest bolt actions. I own two form the 70's, a 30-06 and a 243Win. Tika and Sako is not even close if you are comparing smoothness.

Early Mannlicher Schonauer's .

The 1903 Mannlincher Schonauer is the smoothest by far. I have many in the locker to compare the 1903MS to including FN mauser, Lee Enfield, Pre-64 M70 Win, Ross, Brno model 21/22, 1908 Brazilian Mauser.
Nothing is as smooth as the 1903 MS.

Smoothest, as in silky, action I've handled so far is the Tikka T3...and it was feeding .300 WSMs. From what I've read, not a lot of rifles can boast this with short magnums.

My Vanguard .300 WM is very decent, but still not in that league.

I found that melonite coating adds a very nice, almost "buttery" feel to an action. BAT uses it, as well as Defiance.

I have.... several of them, and the Norwegian Krags as well. The 1900 series Husqvarnas are every bit as smooth, and have much better triggers.

There is nothing like a 1900 action. Some may equal it, but you can't beat it for smooth operation,.
