Sneak peak: New Shotguns

While we're talking about 12.5" barrels, anyone know where to find a rifled slug barrel and what to expect to pay? Im going to need one for my new bear gun on pre-order XD.

Cheers.

So now that we've pre-ordered, what's the estimated wait before they start shipping out? My apologies if this was mentioned already.

Just ordered the mag fed 12.5. I was curious if anyone knew the overall length. Also, with the mag fed, can you have 5 in the mag and 1 in the chamber?

i thought it was around 27" give or take less than an inch. all i care is its over 26 with the knoxx spec ops stock

The 8.5 incher, is 27" with a Knoxx Stock in the smallest adjustable position. Good to go :)

Not if they pull off the adjustable stock by hand. (by tilting the stock adjustment lever in the opposite direction)

Just be careful. When I measured my NRS Knoxx on my Grizz 8.5", with the adjustable part of the butt removed, the OAL was pretty much bang-on at 26", (depending on how you measure it) which is too close for comfort IMHO...

I adjusted the "buffer-tube" part of my knoxx to be an extra half inch longer. You just need to drift the pin out and re-drill another about a half inch in. I also drilled a hole for a rivet also just to be safe.

YMMY, just my two cents.

Almost any under 18inch barreled gun, can be taken apart to be shorter than 26" and fired. If the buttstock is meant to be on the gun, it counts. Why would you take the buttstock off, aside for maintenance? A police officer would look rather foolish in court, explaining how he got the short measurement by taking the gun apart.

It counts? What is your source?

Yes, clearly any rifle or shotgun can be fired in some capacity when a stock is taken off or it is otherwise reduced to less then 26" OAL. Usually you need a screwdriver, or some sort of tool to take the stock off.

With the knoxx, losing that extra little inch that helps puts you over the edge at 27 inches is an unnecessary risk. For an LEO, reducing the OAL on a knoxx equipped Grizz 8.5 to barely 26" is no more complicated then pushing a button on a folding stock. (which on the 8.5 Grizz, would also land you in hot water as per the CCC)

At the end of the day, do what you like, but you may pay the consequences.

From the CCC:

Restricted firearm:

(c) a firearm that is designed or adapted to be fired when reduced to a length of less than 660 mm by folding, telescoping or otherwise, or

Prohib firearm:

(b) a firearm that is adapted from a rifle or shotgun, whether by sawing, cutting or any other alteration, and that, as so adapted,
(i) is less than 660 mm in length, or
(ii) is 660 mm or greater in length and has a barrel less than 457 mm in length,

Was the stock designed to be used with the butt plate off? I'm going to go ahead and say that it was not, and with the buttplate installed, and at it's shortest setting it's an inch over. You do whatever helps you sleep at night.

I have to wonder what kind of activity a person would be involved in such that they would be worried that if a LEO partially disassembled their firearm, the LEO would charge them for incorrectly registering same.

To put it another way, if you aren't breaking other any laws, why would a cop bother you over such trivialities.

People who speed also get tickets for burnt out marker lights if they cop an attitude.

I rock a 8.5" grizz with a PGO openly at the range. This is a non-restricted firearm until such time at it gets designated as a pistol.

That's my $0.02.

isnt this up to the interpretation of everyones CFO, we can quote CCC all we want but they are not following it, they are just using it for guideance, last I was told be it right or wrong it was up to the CFO which is ridiculous really
