Snider blank

My living history group is looking to buy some 24 gauge plastic hulls to use as Snider-Enfield blanks. We have plenty of brass for ball ammo, but would like something cheaper for blank firing, as we do mostly blank firing.

Try googling/contacting Bilozir fine guns in Alberta.
I bought 24ga. Cheddite hulls for my Snider from him in the past at very reasonable prices

We also tried to find some for the 150 year Fenian Raid ceremonies this summer, tried Biloxir but they no longer keep them in stock.

Might try Rusty Wood Trading Co. He did carry brass 24ga not sure about plastic.

Brass shells are not a problem, just to expensive for blanks. What we were looking for were the paper or plastic hulls ones.

plastic is not something normally stocked here unfortunately and paper 24ga is not made anymore only new made paper is in 12ga federal has loads under their gold medal grand series and Cheddite makes hulls as well brass will last forever anyway and wont need to be resized if kept with the same gun.

Unfortunately, no one imports Cheddite .24 Gauge hulls into Canada anymore. A friend is trying to find an importer for them, he is contacting the usual ones to see if they can help. We need about 500 hulls for the re-enactment.

plenty have Cheddite hulls but nobody keeps 24ga plastic hulls on hand as theirs very few shotguns floating around in 24ga you will find them from time to time Iver Johnson made them but very rare

I thought shotgun hulls were exempt from import limitations?

buy 24 guage brass shells and reuse them. You should be able to reload them many times both as blanks and as bulleted shells. Just be sure to compact the powder in the blanks, in order to get a good bang out of them The only problem that I see is if you are shooting and dropping the empties, then moving ahead etc and picking the shells up later. Then I would suspect you would lose a few each time
