Canadian Sniders are marked with the battalion number over the rack number in most cases, eg:

with the battalion number usually a larger 'font size'. These numbers are usually found stamped into the brass of the buttplate tang or, especially on Sniders with steel fittings, stamped into the wood on the buttstock. There are a range of variations out there, however.
As for the Queens Rangers, that specific name pre-dates the Snider era, but it seems to have been perpetuated by the 12th York Battalion of Infantry during the time of the Snider, then becoming the York Rangers. If so, then the markings on the Snider would be a "12" over a rack number.
