Snider MKII star star 1867

Any idea if this would have an iron or steel barrel? It appears cut down at 26" the forend is shortened as well. A 3 groove barrel that appears shootable. The door fits tight .The front sight is dovetailed into the barrel.Marking include II ** on the reciever top , Crown behind the hammer in a circle ENFIELD VR with a 1 at the 6 o'clock position outside the circle R M on either side of the crown.. Brass trigger guard ,barrel band and butt plate.Should this have a chain and firing pin protector on the trigger guard?

Steel barrels arrived with the Mk. III. There would originally have been a chained firing pin cover.

Steel barrels were stamped STEEL on the left side of the barrel ahead of the shoe (receiver).

Varying OAL for factory ammo and brass. Dominion is 1.63" brass....2.139" loaded Kynoch 1.992" brass....2.464" loaded military paper rolled steel base 1.952"........2.420" loaded

Mine was converted from a Enfield 1853 musket as brass is used instead of ferrous. Need the first band as Bubba installed a homemade one.
