sniper sks ;)

Here is mine, a Tula 53 with bayonet lug chopped, kwik rail and vomz PU 3.5x german reticle scope. Only mod left is a trigger job maybe. Hoping for 3-4moa.

Nice, I always thought that scope would look good on an sks. How do you like it so far? I picked one up from Corwin arms and put it on an svt40, which it suits nicely. Haven't had a chance to sight it in though.

Nice job!!!

oh if only the trigger could be a bit more crispy.
This is at 110 yards, it was windy as hell yesterday, s&b soft point brass case ammo. Not gonna run a scope on this gun, just stick with the irons or rds cause I hate thumbing rounds one at a time

Then get a detachable mag. Shave off the bolt and the stock to make it work nicely way better.

Couples of faux pas.. I'd get a Promag drilled and tapped mount, somewhat similar to the op has but the main reason is I miss using stripper clips rather than use aftermarket mags. $$

As far as the scope, glass is really good for the price however that reticle covers most of the line of sight. Next time, if ever it happens with my second one, would be a Leupold vx 1-4x used on the E&E.

My other one as Williams peep rear and tapco front post and I can shoot it all day long. Hope this helps.

All or most came from corwins as well. A closer look what it looks like.

I'm working on a set-up like this one.

The mount is designed and drafted and it's based off the mechanics of a Yugo M59 style mount. Which is essentially a reversed PU mount with a set screw added to adjust windage. Off-centre by roughly an inch which allows use of the stripper clips and irons. I haven't finalized it yet because I'm trying to find the most comfortable positioning. I have test rig set-up using a chuck of wood, PU scope rings, a C-clamp, and cardboard fastened with zip ties for a cheek piece.

Yes, an off-set mount is less accurate and "un-merican"... it's a SKS. Zero at 200m and it will be off by .5" at 100m and 300m. If your inclined to shoot that far.
