Has anyone started snow goose conservation hunting in Alberta yet?
If so, how has it been?
I haven't seen any snows up by Edmonton as of yet...

Birds started crossing the border last week but the weather keeps pushing them back and forth across the border. They are getting some good hunting in ND currently but southern AB and SK not quite yet. It won't be much longer. Once temps climb a bit and the snow line starts receding northward they will push up this way. Best part is this Covid-19 means no American hunters, american guides or competition with outfitters this spring. We could be in for some stellar action without all them yankees chasing the birds steady up here.

I haven't seen any snow geese around here yet but Canada geese have been sleeping and feeding in fields local for over a week, and going for walks on the sloughs.

What are the daily and possession limits on snows these days? In the 90s it was almost measurable by the cubic foot of a fellow's truck box there were so many.

On a serious note, migratory game is managed by hunting. Without spring hunts, the summer grounds will be demolished and the cycles of population will be devastating. Will the wildlife departments be pleading with hunters to come out and shoot lots next year?

From what I've been taught, the grasses up on the Hudson Bay Lowlands are not very thick in the best of times. Two advantages though, this year's birds won't learn about avoiding hunters (he he he), and the native communities that need the protein will have amazing harvests.
