Left the house this morning with light snow falling and not much wind. Got to the farm at legal light and the snow started to change to rain. The snow on the ground and damp conditions really absorb the sound, so much so that at one point 10 minutes in walked over to the caller to see if it was working okay.
Anyway, stayed on stand for about 35 minutes before I spot this coyote over my left shoulder behind me coming across a field about 450 yds out. She kept coming, crossed the drainage ditch I was laying in and stopped about 130yds out quartering toward me. She seemed hesitant to commit so I zoomed up the scope a bit before resting the crosshairs on her chest. At the sound (which seemed muffled by the damp conditions) she dropped in her tracks.

Frank you are the ultimate weekend warrior. Nice shooting. We finally got some snow so the boys and I chased 2 yote dogs around yesterday. Took one small female and missed the male. But we scared him real good.
Congrats on your calling successes.

good job on the coyote. i got out with some locals on Monday who run hounds and we put up five over the course of a day. got three out of the five . they were out a second time this past week and got three more. have not heard how Saturdays hunt went yet . lots of them out there.
