What do you use for snowshoe harness. At present we are using the rubber inner tube type. I tried the leather or nylon type and do not like them. I do a lot of bush/cedar swamps walks and just broke a magnesium snowshoe so the hareness has to be strong and hold. What home made harness do you use?

Best $12 I've ever spent...tough denier fabric always stays in place, LeB's sells them.

Unlike the picture, I make sure that I loop the strap 2-3 times around itself before I buckle it at the contact point. This ensures that the "business end" of the harness always stays firmly in place and pivots easily.

Cut a 1-1/2" wide band of inner tube and slip it up around your ankle on each foot. When you have your lamp wick binding nicely tied, pull the inner tube band down and stretch the front of it to go under the toes of your boot.
Lampwick is cheap & easy & the inner tube holds it all from slipping around
... sort of a constant tension. Easy on & off, even when frozen.
