Snowshoehares are starting to turn color fellas

trevj that looks Kamloops-ish. You round these parts.?

Good job Brutus, I didn't get out this year due to not being able to get to my spots for all the damn snow we had.
Got a couple at the end of deer season but that was it.
Thanks Cyanide! Finally we are nearing the end of a long winter.
Today I took one more along the "wall of green jungle" that Trevor, Silverback & myself are so familiar with.
And earlier on I did hear a rabbit crying in distress about twenty minutes before I shot the one I got today. I do believe the forest predators use me to push previously unmoving/unseen rabbits into thier teeth or talons. In October I actually discovered that a lynx followed me one day, and on another snowy day in December I heard a different rabbit being ambushed somewhere in the deep nearby snowdrifts around me. Much like today's example.

Pretty cool to be able to hear that going on just out of sight. Not to surprised that the predators are willing to risk the contact with you, for the easy pickings.

Gotta be about time for the owls to be nesting, getting ready for the spring rush. Wonder if it was one of them.

Y'all really need to come for a visit!

Cheers
Trev

Was bamboozled by a few that wanted to stay out of range........so with this new development I changed tools.
The 12 gauge M87 Ithaca Turkey Gun (early Turkeyslayer) was used this early evening. Canuck 1 1/4ounce #4s can reach to 47 meters and still have enough juice to take a hare. ;)

Y'all still in snow, or is it Mosquito season yet?

Cheers
