The real trick will be if you can make it to still mount a bayonet. Perhaps an M44 one would work as it is part of the front sight mount. It's a though

Not possible. M44's have a bayonet pivot and site base that is too long for what he wants, also the 91/30 has a smaller barrel diameter than th M44 so the mount would not fit. Nor would the bayonet retainer ring.
