Hi guys, I am eye balling a Glock to add to my collection, and seeing as I already have a norc 1911, and have 45ACP kicking around, I might be looking into getting a Glock 21 (ammo is the same, so why not right? makes things simpler and I am a .45 type of guy).

I was just wondering a few things about the GEN 2 G21's.

a) What is the market value of one now, with under 1K rounds? (let's say for the sake of argument, gun + one mag, no mods). What should I be looking at in terms of a FAIR and average price?

b) Have there been any severe issues with the Gen2 glock 21's? (I have heard that some police dept's had to recall some 21's, but I can't remember which Gen they were)

c) Should I be looking at a newer Gen? like the Gen 3? Or are the Gen 2's still decent and in demand? (I am thinking, in the future, resale value)

d) Am I better off getting another type of polymer framed gun? Is there anything that I can get at a better price that will work asw reliably as a Glock? (I have seen XDM's jam, while I have had people tell me they have fired 20K-30K rounds through glocks with no issues)

Answers to any or all of these questions would be fantastic and truly apppreciated!

Thanks!

My 2nd gen G-21 has roughly 15k rounds through it. Only complaint is the price of ammo. The grips are large but even my wife with smaller hands can shoot it without problems.

but apparently the grips are huge? That sucks, I have a small hand... well lanky hand, which is better suited for my 1911. I think I may need to go to a shop and try holding one...see how that goes. I remember holding an XD, and it felt pretty decent in my hand, but it was a 9mm.

Have a look at a Glock 21SF (or a Glock 20SF - for a size reference as the frames are the same). The short frame model (SF) may make just enough difference in size for you.

Regards,

Chizzy

Really? I am a young guy (23), so it may just be that my hands haven't "filled" out yet (width wise), but I know they're not getting longer! haha

From the tip of my middle finger, to the bottom of the "round lobe" where your thumb bone connects with the wrist, my hand is 8" long. (about). Hopefully your wife's hands are smaller than that!! haha

I will go to a shop today and try out various polymer framed guns. maybe an XD will be better, but I want to try a G21. :)

PS Rattle: If you were selling your G21 (hypothetically), what would your asking price be for the gun? Like, what is the value of a used G21 (but let's say you had less than 1K rounds through it).

being a 45acp lover myself, the 21sf was the only glock suited for me :)
Got it for 769+tax and ship with free t-shirt, cap and mesh bag @ wolverine. I wouldnt pay anything more than 700$ for a used one shipped to my door
