So the non restricted ACR's and non restricted Beretta ARX's are coming next year. I want to buy one of them. I just cant decide what one I want. I haven't had the chance to play with a ACR yet so right now they are on equal footing with me. What one would you choose and why?

I think you're betting on the fact that the ARX100 will have it's OK from the Firearm Lab by next year and that in itself should negate any comparison as the availability (well, legality) would be the bigger issue.

Unless of course I've missed the fact that the ARX100 has already received it's NR classification.

The ACR has tremendous accuracy and reliability is fantastic. Barrel changes into different calibres are super easy if you build your barrel kits
ARX everything is unknown.

I am assuming that it gets the non restricted nod next year. It has been in for review for close to 8 months now.

Not that much is unknown about the ARX as you say. I am assuming they will be reliable as the parent rifle is serving in Afghanistan and with different militaries around the world. The rifle is made by Beretta as well which is a very reliable firearm company. I know I am assuming here and the ARC is proven, but Beretta is not notorious for releasing junk. The ARX can do caliber changes as well.

I voted ACR because I already own one and I like the looks of them better. I am pretty sure both will be accurate and reliable so it just comes down to which one do you like better. The ACR is here now and barrels can be made for them to be converted to non restricted. The ARX is coming but no one knows when. If the ARX turns out to be superior one can always sell their ACR or simply buy another rifle, no law says you can't have both :D

Dare I say it?
Whichever becomes battle proven first:runaway:

Buy the one that comes out first, if you don'y like it just trade it for the other one.

Yech, these modern 5.56 guns are all just AR-18s dressed up in plastic shells. Wake me up when I can get a FAL again.

Has the berretta been confirmed as non restricted? I thought the firearms lab was still deliberating? And has twigmaster finally confirmed the acr for next year? Which dealers are first at getting it?

Oh really? So you think AR18 can do dual side shell ejection with just one push bottom ?? xD

The fact that Stoner's AR-18 system could be adapted so easily to eject from both sides is a testament to the original design.
