Well today after waiting nearly a month I got a phone call from the Wolfsden to say my paperwork was through for me to pick up my two pistols, the S&W M&P 9mm and the S&W 17-6 .22 revolver, this was after speaking to the CFO on Thursday who rushed it through for me.
Well I get down to the Wolfsden in record time, excitement and anticipation rising as I pull into the car park, in I go and there is sat on the table is the 17-6 Smith and Wesson .22 revolver and two rather sad faced looking members of staff.
The serial number of the .22 revolver was listed as the 9mm M&P Smith and Wesson I had purchased at the same time, all the other details were lost, the firearms office claim they only had the details of the 9mm, yet they had put the .22 serial number onto the paperwork and had lost the serial number of the 9mm.
Please someone tell me the truth is this Canadian system run by complete and utter idiots? or a collection of complete incompetent staff, this ATT paper really is a crap way of dealing with firearms.
At least in the UK, once you had been deemed safe and competent and the FAC had been issued, this let you go where ever and buy what ever you were allowed to hold, pay your money and walk home with the gun, no wait, no mess.
Looks as if I'm in for yet another long wait while the Government office sort this mess out maybe next Christmas will be a little better
