Hey guys......this is my first 858......in a previous post someone mentioned to take it down and it even thoigh its brand new outta the box......what should I use and how through a cleaning should I do.......and why would I clean it for that matter......all my bnib pistols I buy go right to the range without a cleaning what gives? Any good links to videos for cleaning?

It never hurts to clean the bore before firing it, excess oil can cause increased pressure. Whenever I purchase a new firearm I always do a detail strip and check that all parts are there, functioning properly and that there are no obstructions in the barrel. Better safe than sorry IMO

You'll find that it was worth the wait.
I'm just across the river from you in Port kells. Mine was in Richmond on Fri and sat there all weekend.. Delivered to my door on Monday.

Open sight hood, new issue sling, used magazine bag, used bayonet sheath. Gun looks almost new except for some small dings by the butt plate and handguard. Very happy!

The buckle end goes to the butt. Feed the sling through the buckle and the leather end gets attached to the front with the cufflink

I can't feed the sling though the buckle because the metal piece won't fit through. Sounds like there should be a loose end on the buckle end of it though right?
This is what mine looks like:

you feed the leather in first, then thru the metal buckle , then thru the front loop. remove the metal pin

I can't feed the sling though the buckle because the metal piece won't fit through. Sounds like there should be a loose end on the buckle end of it though right?
