So do I buy a 10.5" Norc or a 14.5" Norc - Norc AR Haters Leave Now Please...

I just got a 14.5" on a trade. I like it a lot. I would get it again. I do plan on a 7.5" upper build in the future, so the 10.5" isn't on my radar.

My one suggestion, since you mentioned Magpul, skip the B.A.D lever. It turned mine into a bolt action. Luckily my local shop took it back. It may not do it with all of them, but I wouldn't waste the money on it. My guess is the upper/lower aren't quite as well matched as higher end carbines.

I have a 10.5" Bushmaster, and love it, but you do lose a lot of muzzle velocity going from 14.5" to 10.5". If all you're ever going to use it for is target practice...like me... no problem. But if you ever HAD to use it for anything else, you'd be better served by the 14.5".

The 10.5" is WAY cooler, which is why I own that length :)

I don't own either the 10.5" or 14.5" Norc CQ's (or any AR's anymore for that matter). However, I prefer the "look" of the 14.5" in the original factory configuration. Looks good just the way it is....I wouldn't change a thing.

I am building an 11.5 inch gun on a norc reciever right now. I have to admit I bought that length for the look of a viet nam era XM177E2. I can't wait to shoot it.

I love my 10.5 Norc. The flash is only really noticable when it starts to get dark out.

Here is a pic of mine with a vortex strikefire and all magpul accesories minus the stock.

I like it a lot! I'm pretty convinced about the 10.5" CQA. I guess the way I'm convincing myself is that it's a range toy and as a toy it should put a smile on my face. If we could ever use these things off of a range I'd definitely have one in 14.5" or even 16". I also think that (as a couple others have mentioned) that I could just buy the 14.5" upper and have the best of both worlds. Maybe set up the 14.5" with a 1-4x optic for a little more accuracy. I'm also thinking that I could transfer the magpul forend over to the 14.5" and do the free float quad rail mod on the 10.5" to complete the look I'm after.

I'm clearly getting ahead of myself :) The sickness has already begun and I don't even own one yet. It was inevitable :)

I was debating on the 2. I bought the 10.5" and I love it.
I put a troy muzzle brake on it and man its loud but awesome, and the flash.!!!
My friend bought the 14.5 its fun too...and my other buddy bought both lengths

Either way you can't go wrong!

Have used both quite a bit ..get the 14.5 you will not be dissapointed :) the 10.5 is for cqb and not terribly accurate past 150m
Also the noise of the 10.5 is a bit much as well...
10.5 for 0-75m work
14.5 would comfortable yet still a challenge at 50-200m max

Of course there will be hero's that post they can shoot a million billion miles and hit a flies wings, I can see it now lol.
Truth be told, I am a collector first and a decent shooter. That being said I prefer the versatility of a bit long barrel :)
Imho
Thanks
not claiming to do anything special, but I can hit a chest sized gong at 300m with my 10.5 consistently with the same BDC on my elcan marked for a 14.5" barrel

I know guys with 10.5"bbl and 11.5"bbl respectively hit that same 20" gong at 500m and a buddy of mine has done the same with his Swiss Arms CQB. Don't doubt 'cause you haven't done it yet.
