So...does your rifle have a name?

I named my Norc M14S "Annie".

My wife got all bent out of shape a few weeks ago when she called me while I was doing a stock swap (that plastic Norc stock to a Boyd's) and I told her "hold on hun, Annie's naked right now, lemme call you back in a bit when I'm done".

That was fun to explain...:p

message for the rcmp drones looking at the gunnutz threads for signs of potential armed uprisings of crazies : i do NOT have any names for my guns, im not with these people, please dont confiscate my guns. my imaginary friend says everybody here is crazy except us

I'll bite. Most of my guns are just "My CZ, my M14, etc." but the DA Grizzly, the 8.5" barreled one, is called "bear whistle" because everyone needs to bring a bear whistle blueberry picking, eh? When I was living at home between college and work my mom (who was the one who coined the name) liked to call me up to show guests my bear whistle, my whole family would then stare fixedly awaiting the dropped jaw. Yup, we rednecks, but the locals weren't. :D:D:D:D

I've got a Stoeger coach gun I call "The Judge"

Charlene from "Full Metal Jacket"

R:d:

When I went through Kapooka (Australian Army Boot Camp) My Corporal asked If I had named my Styer - I said "Yes Corporal, Charlene" He said how original, I told him it was her name and that was that, when he asked if I watched FMJ too many times I replied "No, the previous recruit had etched the name into the reciever."

Everytime I went to get it out of the armoury, rather than call it by its number, it was refered to as Charlene. He had some fun trying to get our section to laugh everytime we did weapons drill by making some smart arse comment about me and Charlene.

NICE!

Sweet! My current Springfield NM M1 Garand is the one I call Charlene. I don't have a M14 yet. I have too many to name them all. I guess I should name my favorite Swede and Swiss rifles. I carried a M1 Garand in AOCS (U.S. Navy) and I just refered to it as "heavy #####". Kinda hard to become attached to an inert rifle that you carry on 10 mile "rifle runs".
