So... How does YOUR SKS shoot??

palm-sized groups at 50 yards standing last week, only a little to the right of where I was aiming...

I love John Cleese, he's a maniac and I wish I had the balls to behave like that in front of an audience.

YUP ! Thats my sks alright ! LOL. No mater what I do, what stock, proper bedding, what scope, what ammo, this gun , while fun to shoot, disappoints. I collect milsurps and it by far is the worst for hitting anything. The price reflects the quality, at least for me it does.

A little better than in that video. :D

At 100 yards, My Russian ones group the biggest, probably because they're well used. 5-6 inches usually.

My Chinese ones do quite well as they're unissued and tighter. My Yugoslavian M59/66 A1 is about as good as my Chinese ones although the font sight was hitting about two or three inches left at 50 yards, I've knocked it over with a sight tool and it's as dead on as it can be now.

Not target rifles by any means, but acceptable.

I can consitently hit popcans with my chinese SKS at 100yards with open sights. Either I am a better than average shot, or i have a better than average SKS.Scoped, I'm getting 2" groupings at 100 yards. Go figure.

Haha this is why I didn't get a Russian, the accuracy can be dog#### on them but the new Chinese ones are pretty consistent I find. Usually they get 3-5 inch groups but the Russians seem to be totally random.

Best group I have ever seen come out of an SKS was 2.5 inches at 100 yards iron sights with the lacquered czech surplus

My experience has been excellent with the Chinese Type 56, they are very accurate at a 100 yds but with the Russians you really have to check the barrel before purchase as my first Russian I bought (without checking) had a bore like a shotgun....:D. Most of the Russians have been well used and some have worn barrels but most of the Type 56's that I have seen are or at least seem to be factory new.

How does my SKS shoot?

Well, it is really an interesting process if you don't know much about it.

It all starts off with the trigger. When the trigger is pressed, it releases the hammer..... :p

Technically, it doesn't shoot, you shoot it. By itself, it does nothing, with your help it does a little better.
"See that embankment behind the target? I intend to shoot it! Where? Where the holes appear, of course!"
