the article title is wrong. the "500 auto max" is built on an AR10.
"500 auto max" is basically just 500 S&W cut with a rebated rim to work with the .473" ar10 bolt face
the .445" 6.5 grendel bolts that you use for 50 Beo are about as large as you can fit in an ar15. there is no way in hell you could fit a cartridge with a .473" bolt face in an ar15.

I have a bushmaster ACR. It is chambered in Remington 30AR. It uses a .492 bolt face and a max psi of 55,000.
It is a custom made bolt, I have zero failures to date
The ACR uses AR15 size parts, my custom bolt is proof tested at 20% higher than its 55,000psi max load by the builder.i will amend my statement and say that a .473 bolt in an AR15 will not handle the 60k psi of 500 Auto-Max.
450 bushmaster uses a .473 bolt, yes, but it also runs a very low 38k PSI.
30 RAR in AR15s uses a special upper, bolt, and barrel extension that are all larger than an standard AR15, which is how it handles the high pressure of the the 30 RAR.
